One of the most emblematic – and controversial – pop groups of the late 1980s. Pressed in 1988 by the label Box, this disc corresponds to the first European broadcast period, before the global duo explosion in 1989.

Product by Frank Farian, major figure in international pop (also at the origin of Boney M.), Girl You Know It is the title that propels Milli Vanilli to the top of international charts. The song quickly became a planetary tube, carried by a characteristic pop-dance sound of the 1980s, mixing driving rhythms, synthetic production and immediately memorizable choruses.

The Milli Vanilli duo, composed visually of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan, then embodies a strong and highly publicized image. Their rapid ascent is however followed by a historical scandal : it is revealed that the voices heard on the studio recordings are not theirs. This case leads to the withdrawal of their Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990a unique case in the history of this award. Despite this, Milli Vanilli remains today a cult symbol of the 80s popregularly rediscovered and reassessed by music lovers, collectors and DJs.
