This is number 48, Indiana (Mazurka)published by Benoit Senior in Paris, an active publisher in the second half of the 19th century. This double sheet presents a beautiful cover page typical of the musical engravings of the period, richly decorated and carefully printed.
The score is in a good condition for its age: yellow paper, worn edges and some marks of time, but all notes remain perfectly legible. It is surrounded by a reinforcement tape in old gummed paper, once added to protect fragile edges. It is not a modern scotch but a traditional material used by connectors and musicians to extend the life of music sheets. This authentic detail tells the history of its handling and adds an additional heritage charm.
Ideal for collectors of ancient scores, pianists passionate about romantic music, lovers of Second Empire imagery or those looking for a beautiful decorative object to frame. A beautiful historic room offered at a low price.
