This is a production of the house Dwellings of the Manor, a well-known brand of French metal lovers, and a part of the post-war style of Paris.
The pitcher has a bandy shape, slightly tightened collar, decorative pewter handle, typical of the 20th-century mid-size models in a rustic Louis XV inspiration. The visible stamping "ETAIN – Made in France" and the circular logo are used to authenticate provenance and brand. Tastevins, with their lateral ring and coat of arms engraved decoration, complete the whole with refinement.
For knowledgeable collectors as well as for small brochanters wishing to propose a beautiful object without exaggerating, this set has several advantages: French manufacture, recognized brand, correct visual condition, weight (~1,225 kg for the set or for the pitcher alone according to precision) which demonstrates the quality of the material. Although tin is not a precious metal in the sense of gold or silver, its decorative and utility use gives it a value for use and collection.
By choosing a price of 70 €, the balance seems good between seller and buyer: attractive enough for a collector, reasonable for a brocanter, while taking into account the material (tin) and brand aspect.
It is recommended to maintain the natural patina, avoid aggressive polishing that erases punches or engravings, and to present the object with its measurements (17 cm × 18 cm × mouth 11 cm) to reassure the buyer.
In short: a beautiful French ensemble, brand Etains du Manoir, beautiful material, vintage-chic style, perfect for serving or decorating, and offered at a reasonable price for brocing market / collection.
Note: Although this piece is primarily a collector's item, the metal it showcases (the tin) is part of a global momentum of upsurge in demand, which further enhances its appeal to amateurs and brokers.
Little word for connoisseurs : Beyond its decorative and heritage interest, this tin piece benefits from a favourable context, with metal experiencing sustained global demand. Not to mention investment, tin remains a safe and sustainable value, appreciated both for its nobility and for the stability of its standing in time.
