Decorative terracotta gourde – Calvados Normandie – Craftsmen 60/80

A collection of rustic charm, this decorative terracotta gourd was made in the 1960s and 1980s for the Calvados distilleries in Normandy.

With its apple relief and its inscription in ornamented letters, it evokes rural and old tavern objects, while remaining a typical 20th century artisanal production.

Its weight (903 g) and its dimensions (approx. 24 × 16 cm) bear witness to a dense and solid material, probably rustic terracotta or raw ceramic, used at the time to enhance regional products among visitors and tourists.

This decorative bottle, without signature, represents a fine example of popular Norman tradition, made to mix utility and memory.
