Piano method of the Imperial Conservatory (1852–170)

Rare piano teaching manual published under the Imperial Conservatory of Music, dated from the Second Empire period (1852–70).

This official book, intended for teachers, presents a progressive method of facilitating piano learning without discouraging students from their first classes. It contains 55 pages of exercises, explanations and basic lessons, ranging from recognition of notes to first movements on the keyboard. These institutional manuals, reserved for schools and accredited teachers, have been drawn in limited quantities and are rarely kept complete today. This represents a valuable testimony of 19th-century musical pedagogy. The copy is in superb condition of use for its age: clean pages, readable text, full content. Note only a weakness in the fixation of pages, common for works over 150 years old. A beautiful object of musical history, ideal for collectors, teachers, pianists or lovers of educational heritage.
